Young Thug- SLIME SEASON 2 Review

‘Slime Season 2’

The artist Young Thugs whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Willams  is 24 years old upcoming rapper straight out of Atlanta. The part in the city where is is from was deemed so bad by the city that it was called zone 3 and was later demolished.  He was the second youngest of 10 siblings. Thug spent 4 years in a juvenile correction center and found his nac in rapping. Growing into the passion Young Thug came out with multiple mixtapes called ‘Came From Nothing volumes 1,2,and 3’. With no one having the same style of rapping he caught the attention of many people, especially Gucci Man who signed him to is 1017 Brick Squad label. His fourth mixtape was ‘1017 Thug’ and Rolling Stone placed it on ten top mixtape list in 2013. Bater 6 came out in April of 2015 and landed number 9 on the new hottest hip-hop charts.Slime Season released in mid September and then Slime Season 2 on Halloween.
Young thug is known to be extremely different than other artist in his lyrics and adlibs and just the way he talks. On Slime Season 2 the music is very driving and makes you just wanna vibe if you can understand what he is saying. Thug is extremely thought-provoking when it comes to lyrics because with people not understanding him it leaves the listener thinking about what language he is speaking. When everyone first listens to him there is 95% chance it sounds like gibberish but the more you listen to him the more you can understand his message. He has the ability to hide his words in his voice which no other artist can do and that can stop a lot of people from listening to him.

He also demonstrated his talent in ‘Up’ produced by Wheezy, Thugs lyrics are very amusing because they can leave people in awe ,“ baby girl gon’ stay and drop it, no steps I promise i go up, Girl what up? Im like baby this wassup” which is just a jaw breaking line. Also Wheezy & Ricky Racks helped produce a song called “ I’ll Tell You What” that had a beat that was mesmerizing because it lets you zone out with it into your own world because it has a atmospheric feel to it. Young Thug also had a raw lyric in the song “ Pheonix” produced by Goose because it was extremely clever “ Kuna Matata I need you, I am a Mufasa genius” which is just a profound lyric because has so much meaning in the ways you could think about it. Overall I rate it 9/10.

Young Thug accomplished may things from this mixtape and all of these things helped him in the long run. First it increased his fan base because a lot of people started to listen to him once it released. Second after it was released people were on pins and needles waiting for slime season 3 to release. Third of all he just got plenty money to last him for a life time and his family. Thugger has now got his clout up in the music world.
